London International Olive Oil Competition LIOOC, London April 2017.

The top international distinction for Greek olive oil: PLATINUM MEDAL in the London International Olive Oil Competition in the health claim category, London April 2017. There, the olive oils compete for their health protective characteristics (concentration of polyphenols) at a rate οf 70%, as well as for their organoleptic characteristics at a rate of 30%. By this award we proved that a high phenolic olive oil could also have excellent organoleptic charactheristics. At the same time we awarded with the bronze medal in the category of quality.

Τhe pharmacognosy Laboratory of National and Capodistrian University of Greece, in cooperation with the World Olive Center has established these awards for high phenolic olive oils. The gold medal goes to the olive oils with total concentration of polyphenols over 1000 mg/kg.

Ιnternational competition Aristoleo Awards “Tasted, Tested and True” March 2017 Cyprus.

In this, the olive oils competed for their health characteristics after being checked that they are organoleptic perfect. The awards were presented by category of olive trees variety - our in class Koroneiki – and in absolute numbers and rate, as measured by the NMR method of the Pharmacognosy laboratory of University of Athens. It should be noted that oleocanthal and oleacein substances have been attributed, by numerous medical researches, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, cardioprotective and neuroprotective properties.

Athena International Olive Oil Competition, April 2017, Costa Navarino, Messinia, Greece.

295 olive oils from 9 counties compete for their organoleptic characteristics, as these evaluated from a panel of 23 judges from 11 countries. There were total participations from 92 diferrent varieties of olive trees, which shows the extraordinary wealth of the exta virgin olive oil and the olive trees varieties..
